Our internal project name for this TVC was “Big Ad”….it was big. We actually produced 2 of these for different markets. One of the morning show in Melbourne and one for the Jonesy and Amanda here in Sydney. Shot at Fox Studios with all VFX produced in house it was a lot of fun to work on.
The UKTV promos were simple but so effective. We developed the visuals around a simple glass effect along with a full sound design and composition.
STEAM was asked to produce a series of autumn promos for UKTV. We shot this on the RED camera but to honest we could get the same result from the Canon 7D at 50fps for a fraction of the cost. It’s a game changer and we love it! The subtle particle effects were done with…you guested it… Particular.
Seafolly lives and breaths on the success of it’s annual catalogue. It’s no wonder given the quality they place on the selection of world class models like Jess Hart. She became a house hold name through the exposure given to her by Seafolly. We take you behind the scenes of one their location shoots.
In 2011 we produced a range of assets for the IBM Australian Open 2011 campaign, including this animated video and 2D icons that were used for the user interface within an Australian Open iPad application.
The opening title sequence of this How to Channel promo was shot on the 7D. How times have changed. The 3D animation was done in Maya. We also did the sound design in Sound Track Pro.
e-learning systems have come a long way but there is still an enormous amount of opportunity to improve the whole e-learning experience. It isn’t easy to produce an e-learning system that is both easy to use as well as engaging. We set out to tackle this problem with the everydaycents e-learning program. The system that we developed was founded on our custom CMS, STEAM-ENGINE, and through the API allowed a significant amount of custom applications to be built around the content. The site consisted of hundreds of pages of interactive workbooks, learning information as well as video, all shot and produced at STEAM. We wanted to go for a seamless look with the talent shot over a white cyc allowing him to blend into the white canvas of the site.
Dayne Dreamable is a relationship based drama filled with silliness, laughs, and physical humour, that takes the audience on a journey from a 6 year old’s lounge room into the deepest depths of his imagination. With his favourite funny looking flat teddy Pancake, Dayne travels to far away imagined lands to solve mysteries, help ridiculous characters, and sing and dance just for fun. Dayne’s dream world is broken when his mother, who is just in the next room, calls Dayne back to reality, where he finds himself once again in the familiar surrounds of his lounge room.
This TVC was created as part of an overall Classic Hits campaign that we developed for the Australian Radio Network. This included everything from magazine ads through to outdoor billboards and bus backs. The animation was created using combination of Maya and AfterEffects.
To bring the Ballet Revolución site to life we produced this 30 second TVC which showcases the amazing dances are choreography.
It is an explosive fusion of Ballet, Contemporary dance and modern hip-hop from the undisputed home of dance, Cuba. It will be a raw, fresh, dynamic Cuban Cocktail of unbridled passion, pure energy and athletic skill.
This ASTRA Awards Teaser commercial was created using a combination of Cinema4D and AfterEffects. It reflected the Cube theme for that year.
It probably comes as no surprise that the majority of the video content we produce these days only exists online…Just because it’s not on tele’ doesn’t mean it shouldn’t have an equal level of production values given to it.
As that most of the work we produce inevitably finds it’s way into other mediums; online graphics, outdoor, print, e-marketing, etc, more often than not we use motion graphic tools to develop a “look” and work this through all other mediums as opposed to starting statically and then trying to make it move. This adstream4 launch video is a perfect example of where the particale effect was used throughout all creative for the campaign but started as motion graphics effect.
I love the fact that we can shoot Television commercials on a $1500 camera. This 2UE ad was shot on a 7D…not even the 5D which everyone raves about. We have a couple of these too. Nevertheless technology is no longer the barrier to entry on this stuff. It comes down to the idea and ability to execute. The animation components were produced in Maya and AfterEffects.
